I was first introduced to the Horrells by Jeff Reid when we
engaged Steve and Cindy to play and sing on my 2004 CD, “Right Hand Man.” I was
so impressed by their ability and dedication to the project that I found myself
repeatedly stopping by their house to talk shop and explore the possibility of
recording a couple of demos to send to Nashville. In the following year I became
a Tuesday night fixture in the Horrell’s warm and loving home. We took it one
song at a time eventually focusing on a general theme for a new rock and roll
CD. Steve put endless hours into the production of this project as he evolved
into an accomplished recording engineer. In my opinion, Steve is one of the
finest guitar players I have ever worked with; his mastery of his instrument is
truly inspirational. I am also grateful for the contributions of Tony, Scott,
Jim, Jason, Cindy, Anna, Rick and Nel. We are privileged to draw from such a
deep well of talent in the Wilmington area. This entire CD has been tempered by
the love and generosity afforded me by dear Cindy. My music became a daily
presence in her life as Steve added layer upon layer to my solo performances and
distilled each tune into a final product. This is their record as much as it is
mine. We hope you love it.
