RIGHT HAND MAN
This project could not have been possible without the love and dedication
afforded me by my incredible friends and family. Originally intended as a

and collective talents of the musicians and our production team.

Dedicated to my wife Mimi and our beautiful children, Eliza and Mac, that

I would especially like to recognize Jeff Reid for his motivation and help
selecting the songs, players and their placement. Jeff, you kept us on
time and on course. Thank you my kind friend, the pleasure was all mine.

Brian Durham has worked countless hours recording and refining the tracks as
Jeff's right hand man and engineer. Brian, your joyful spirit is all over
this recording.
Scott Harrell is steady as a clock, totally in tune with the details of his
drum tones and the perfect foil for Frank Mills, whose delightful bass lines
enhance every song. Scott and Frank, this whole CD is resting on your
strong shoulders.
I can't say enough about our piano man, Jim Ellis. We have been playing
club gigs together for almost 10 years and, along with his own songwriting
skills, have established ourselves as an all original duo. Jim, you are
the best and a true friend. I owe you.
We gave Steve Horrell the basic, rough mix of our live tracks with
instructions to add a little electric guitar. What we got back took the CD
to a completely new level. Weeks of overdubs, the beautiful harmony
arrangements with Cindy Horrell and the eleven-layer do wop ensemble have blown
us all away. Steve and Cindy, I hope this is the beginning of something
great.
The addition of Terry Nash's cool B3 organ and Mike Waddell's magical alto
saxophone has given us a little "Heart and Soul".
Clyde Mattocks' playful dobro and petal steel provided a nod to our country
cousins in Middle Tennessee and put a great big grin on my face.
Rupert Oysler's tasteful harmonica rounded out the project and rivals my
recollections of Beale Street where I met my wife and played many a blues tune
with the best.
I have recorded 30 guitar/vocal demos with J.K. but it was a lesson in the
patience of perfection to watch him distill all of our efforts into the final
mix. Thank you for your support these past few years, for your great
instincts and all the attention you gave this recording.
